The Label Printer Pro prints labels for all types of media cases on plain paper.
Creating a New Label
To create a label, choose New Label from the File menu and then select the type of label you want from the New Document... dialog box. The Ultimate Label Printer Pro ships with the basic Plug-Ins for CD, Zip, SyQuest EZ, SyJet, MO, Jazz, Audio Cassette, and DAT labels.
In your new document, enter the information you want to appear on the label. If the label has any type of rotated text, enter that in 窶弋itle窶 field and it will appear rotated on the label. If the title text is too big for a given text area, it will be scaled down automatically. You can now use any combination of fonts, colors, styles, and attributes (bold, italic, underline, etc.) for the rotated text.
The front and back cover text will appear on top of any graphics you add to the label. Your custom graphics can be scaled and moved using the Layout Tools floating toolbar, where you can select a custom background color for both the front and back labels, as well as manipulate picture options. If you choose to scale a picture, the location controls for that picture will be dimmed since they no longer apply.
Adding Graphics
To add a graphic, click on an Add Picture... button on the Layout Tools window. You can only add and manipulate pictures that are visible in the current label. So, for example, if you want to add a picture to the back cover of a CD Label, you must first switch to the back label, and then add the picture. The Ultimate Label Printer Pro will let you add any files of type PICT, and if you have Mac OS Easy Open installed and the appropriate translators, you can also add .gif files.
Use the Print Preview... option to see a print preview of the labels you want to print. This will look exactly like the printed page.
The Ultimate Label Printer Pro supports high resolution pictures. This means that you can add PICT files of any dpi to take full advantage of your printer's maximum print quality. You can also add pictures of any color format, including 24-bit color.
Direcotry Scanning
Version 5.1.2 of the Ultimate Label Printer Pro now allows you to insert a listing of the contents of a folder or volume by choosing Scan Volume/Folder... from the File menu. The contents of the scan will appear in the active text area.
System Requirements
The Ultimate Label Printer Pro 5.1.2 requires any Mac with System 7.0 or higher, the Drag Manager, and the Appearance Manager installed. System 7.5 and higher have the Drag Manager built in for Drag and Drop support. System 8.0 and higher have both the Drag Manager and the Appearance Manager built in.
If you are using any version of System 7, you will need to install the following items from the 窶廡or System 7.x Users窶 folder that comes with the Ultimate Label Printer Pro into your system folder at the following locations:
Appearance Extension --> Extensions Folder
Appearance --> Control Panels Folder
Appearance Preferences --> Preferences Folder
Although it is possible to run the Ultimate Label Printer Pro on a 640x480 screen, most labels do not fit on it. Thus, 832x624 is the minimum recommended monitor resolution for running this program.
